NEW ROAD BEAST

Dodge has presented the latest gem from the Department of SRT (Street and Racing Technology) just before the opening of the Chicago Auto Show, and this is the new Dodge Charger SRT8.

Under the hood, the new 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 delivers more horsepower and torque than the 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 it replaces. It also will offer improved fuel economy. Estimated power ratings for the 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 are 465 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque, including an estimated additional 80 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,900 rpm. Specific horsepower, torque and fuel economy numbers will be announced closer to the vehicle introduction.

For the first time in an SRT model of Chrysler Group LLC we HAVE Paddle Shifttechnology, in combination with standard automatic transmission. The engine is paired with proven W5A580 5-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 5 seconds and top speed is 282 km/h.

SRT8 has new, split five-spoke, 20-inch lightweight forged and polished aluminum wheels with black painted pockets. Braking is provided by Brembo brakes. The Charger SRT8's Ready Alert Braking system provides for situations in which the driver may have to use the emergency brake and automatically includes the electronic stability control pump to set brake pads against rotors in order to decrease the time required for full brake application.

In the rear, the Charger's new signature "racetrack" taillamp design with 164 illuminating LEDs receives new 4-inch round dual exhaust tips and an SRT8 decklid badge to boldly show the Street and Racing Technology DNA.

Inside the new Dodge Charger SRT8 is a new design that was introduced with the redesigned Dodge Charger for 2011.

An all-new, leather-wrapped, SRT-exclusive steering wheel  carries the SRT logo. The standard paddle shifters flank both sides of the new steering wheel behind the new contoured palm rests.

The front seats have unique, aggressive bolstering and perforated suede insert fabric to help "grip" the driver and passengers, keeping them in place during spirited driving. Heated and ventilated front seats are standard. Reactive headrests also are standard. The SRT logo is embroidered in the seat backs.

For everyday commuting, the 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 incorporates features like Keyless Enter-N-Go, adaptive-cruise control with Forward Collision Warning and Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection, to keep drivers and passengers secure.

New Dodge Charger SRT8 will be built at Brampton Assembly company in the Canadian city of Brampton, Ontario, and it goes on sale at the end of 2011.

VOLKSWAGEN`S FUTURE PROJECTS

Future projects of Volkswagen have been discovered. Volkswgen is planning to make three new
models. Theye are Passat Cabrio, Passat Coupe and Passat SUV.

For 2015, the Passat Cabrio will be replacing the VW Eos. Passat would have MQB construction. MQB construction is technical platform for all models in VW concern (VW, Seat, Skoda and Audi) with transverse installed engines. The advantages are lower costs of construction and production, better space utilization and bigger passive security.

Until now Passat Coupe is known as four-door Passat CC, but in 2015 should be produced a two-door Passat Coupe. Engineers could refuse B-carrier. This will completely drop all four panes. Under a flat roof span is enough space for four passengers.

Passat SUV takes an intermediate position between the compact Tiguan and expensive Touareg. It should appear in 2016 and it will be produced in factory in Chattanooga in US instead of beeing produced in Germany because it is based on American Passat. Passat SUV will be seven-seater, and it will be almost 5 meters long.

SAVE FUEL!!!!

Here are some useful tips for saving fuel.

1. Start the engine only after you have tied up the seatbelt, adjust the seat and door mirrors. Do not warm up the engine idle. Keep in mind that air conditioning consumes energy.

2. The easiest way to save fuel is by quickly switching to the next (upper) gear. At a speed of 50 km/h motor vehicles of middle-class in the second gear are consuming twice as much fuel than in the fourth gear and three times more than in the fifth gear. Modern engines can operate at very low revs, even below 1,500 rpm.

3. A smooth driving style to the highest possible level significantly reduces fuel consumption. Sudden acceleration and braking often largery increase fuel consumption.

4. Bicycle or roof storage tanks increase fuel consumption by 40 percent.

5.  Regular maintenance ensures the vehicle fuel efficiency.

6. Tyre pressure must be properly adjusted. If the tire pressure is too low, this automatically increases rolling resistance and thus fuel consumption and leads to uneven tire wear.

I wish you a pleasant and economical driving!!

AMAZING PARKING FOR GUINNESS RECORD

New Guinness World Record for tightest parallel parking was set by Chinese driver Zheng Da Zong. He parked his car into a space just 24 centimeters (9.45 inches) longer than the vehicle.

Chinese has set a new record which is 2 centimeters better than Ronny Wechelsberger's record. Ronny has managed to slide his Volkswagen Polo into a parking spot just 26 centimeters (10.24 inches) longer than his vehicle, during filming for German TV show Wir holen den Rekord nach Deutschland in Berlin, in April this year.

See the video how to perform such a space, but do not try this at home!! :-D

Old (Ronny's) record

You can see the new (Zheng's) record here (link).
